How to play

One footballer a week. The trick is that your friends want the same ones.

1

The week

Every gameweek you rank 5 players in the order you want them. That's your whole entry — you never pick one directly.

Nobody sees anyone else's list until the deadline, and you can reorder yours as often as you like until then.

2

The deadline

Lists open 24 hours before the first match of the gameweek and lock 1 hour before kick-off.

There are no turns and no timers. Everyone is settled at the same moment.

3

Who gets who

At the deadline the league is resolved in priority order — whoever has the fewest points goes first, so trailing players get first refusal. Gameweek 1 is random.

Going down that order, you get the highest name on your list that nobody above you has taken.

  • Benpicks 2nd

  • Calpicks 3rd

You can never be left with nothing. With five members ranking five players each, the last person to resolve faces at most four taken names — so one of their five always survives.

4

Your backup

The next free name on your own list becomes your backup automatically. It only plays if your main pick is injured before kick-off.

If your pick is simply left out of the squad, that's the risk you took — the backup stays on the bench. And because real picks come first, a heavily contested list can leave you without a backup at all.

5

Season limits

Across the season you may only use 2 players from any one club and 12 in any one position. This is what stops you simply ranking the same superstar every week.

Both limits reset after Gameweek 19, so a second half of the season starts you fresh.

6

Scoring

Every footballer gets a MyDraftPlayer match rating out of 10, calculated from what they actually did — minutes, goals, assists, clean sheets, cards, saves, defensive work.

In a league with friends

Your picks are ranked against each other, and points go by finishing position:

  • 1st25
  • 2nd18
  • 3rd15
  • 4th12
  • 5th8

Ties split the positions they cover. Two players level at the top take (25 + 18) ÷ 2 = 21.5 each, and the next player drops to 15.

Score nothing — a benched footballer, or no list submitted — and you finish last and take whatever that position pays.

In the global league

No ranking against anyone. Points are your player's rating times 10 — a 7.4 rating is 74 points. Consistency wins rather than outdoing your rivals.

Everyone is entered automatically. There's no draft, so you can pick anyone still available — but once you use a footballer there, they're gone for the rest of your season.

That's the whole game.

Two minutes a week, and a lot of second-guessing your friends.
